First run at 9 a.m.

The drivers will first taste action in a practice run starting at 9 a.m. on Saturday. The first timed run will start about 11.30 a.m. followed by a second run at 2 p.m. Following this the cars will return to Christchurch, where they must be at pare ferme at Canterbury Court by 7 p.m., so any mechanical or body repairs must be completed by then.

Cars will be released from part ferme at 8 a.m. on Sunday ready to resume competition. Two repechages will be held from 10 a.m., from which the fastest 28 drivers are exempt. The fastest four from the repechages will join the other 28 drivers on timed run 3, starting about.2 p.m.

The field will then be split in half on each run until run 6, when only two will be left to contest the final, the winner of which gets the $l3OO first prize, while the runner-up has to settle for $650.
