Tense basketball struggle
After a scramble from a jump ball 3s from time, the Checkers forward, Leslie Batmen, slotted home a last second basket to deny Mairehau of victory in a tense' struggle between the two teams in the [Cooper Henderson women's division one basketball competition in Cowles Stadium last evening. Checkers won 38-37 after Mairehau. handicapped by 10 fouls, was kept in the game by the determined efforts of Sue Bennett
and Jackie Cook (10). Hannen' (20) and Dianne ■ Woodhouse (9), and Beth McLeod were the mainstays for Checkers.
