Glen Moria picked to win at Addington today

By

G. K. YULE

Even though she is best known for her performances over longer distances, Glen Moria looks set to gain a deserved win in the 100 Pipers Stakes at Addington Raceway this evening.

Glen Moria followed up a sound fifth to Hands Down in the Lion Brown Easter Cup with a narrow defeat by Idolmite over 3200 m at Forbury Park last Saturday. Considering that she raced on the outside and in the open for the last 500 m or so, gave added merit to that placing. . The pace is certain to be

solid from the mobile start this evening, which will enable Glen Moria to use her stout staying powers to good advantage. Phillipa Frost finished seventh after receiving a rocky run in the Easter Cup at her latest start. She is overdue for a win, which could well come in this race. Quiet Win has failed to

begin cleanly lately, but he will be helped by the mobile start. He is much better than his latest efforts would suggest and a bold run will not surprise. D’Or Favori, The Raider, Royal Decision, Bionic Star and Superior Chance are al) capable sprinters and they could add interest; to the finish.

Light Lord will no doubt be a commanding favourite for the second leg, the Young Charles Stakes, a race for four-year-olds over one mile. He has drawn the second line, but he should be much improved by the race he had at Washdyke last Friday when he finished fourth and should be too speedy for most in the race.
