W.C.T. pulls out
NZPA London World Championship Tennis has pulled out of the 1982 series of Grand Prix tournaments, it was announced in London. The decision, comes after a row with the Men’s International Tennis Council, which runs the professional game and which has tried to impose new conditions on the Dal-las-based organisation headed by the American business tycoon, Lamar Hunt.
The chief condition imposed by the council is that W.C.T. dissolve its recentlyformed player-manage-ment company, and this- Hunt has refused to do. W.C.T. has been part of the Grand Prix for the last four years, and its commitment this year has been staging eight of the 32 super Grands Prix at considerable cost.
