NZPA Gosford, N.S.W. Auckland opened its campaign for the rugby TransTasman Cup with an easy 499 win against Central Coast at Gosford yesterday. Auckland, which meets Sydney for the annual Tasman Cup on Friday night, never got out of second gear yesterday. The New Zea-
landers appeared content to use the match as a chance to adapt to local conditions. Auckland ted, 23-6, at halftime but the session was marred by some poor handling from the visitors. In the second half Auckland gradually drew away and put together some impressive attacking spells.
