A horticultural unit and 70-year-old square weatherboard: house at 15 Vagues Road, Papanui* was passed in at auction on Wednesday at $48,000. The Government Valuation of the 5029 sq m property, is $37,000. The land is zoned residential and can be subdivided into six lots, the house and 748 sq m section making a seventh. The house has four bedrooms and two living rooms. The auction was conducted by Mr P. J. Cook of W. E. Simes, for the trustees of the estate of Mr A. P. H. Roscoe. Negotiations for a private sale continued after the auction. On Tuesday, No. 60 Greers Road, Ham, sold at auction for $Bl,OOO. The property’s Government Valuation (1980) is $57,000. The 26-year-old bungalow, which is made of poured concrete, has two double and two single bedrooms, and is in need of extensive redecoration. It sits on a 1442 sq m section.

The property was auctioned by Mr P. J. Cook of W. E. Simes, for the trustees, the New Zealand Insurance company. A lOha block of land in Ward Road, close to Cheviot, sold for $45,500 at auction. The slightly undulating land is in two titles, and both ’ areas can be built on.

Mr C. Hooper of Pyne Gould, Guinness, Ltd, auctioned the land for Miss E. E. Harry. Tavistock, a 46ha irrigated silt loam property at Sandy Knolls near Aylesbury, was passed in at auction on Wednesday at $235,000. Buildings include a five bedroom weatherboard homestead with an iron roof. The house has a separate dining room, a large living area with an open fire, a study, and brick terraces leading to a tennis court and swimming pool. The property is suitable for cropping but has also run ewes and lambs. The auction was conducted for Mr and Mrs C. O. Bridgeman by Mr W. R. Flanagan of Matson and Allan Real Estate. Negotiations were continuing after the auction. A block of 4ha of bare land in Woolridge Road, Harewood, was passed in at $52,000 at auction on Wednesday but was sold immediately afterwards. . Rural H zoning and a Government Valuation (1980) of $43,400. The Waimakariri silt loam makes the land, which has been in the Grant family for 60 years, most suitable for intensive horticulture. Mr F. Templeton of Matson arid Allan auctioned the property on account of the estate of the late Mr A. D. Grant.
