The Grassland Memorial Trust, a body set up by the Grassland Association to foster and promote pastoral agriculture in New Zealand and to commemorate the contributions made to New Zealand agriculture by some prominent New Zealanders, has recently received gifts from one national company
and three prominent Southland companies. The chairman of the trust, Dr R. W. Brougham, announced this at a recent meeting of trustees in Palmerston North, and expressed gratitude to the companies — Wrightson NMA. Ltd, the Southland Phosphate Company, the Southland Fro-
zen Meat Company, and the Alliance Freezing Company. Since its inception in 1965, the trust had made almost 100 awards to farmers, individuals, advisor.v officers, scientists, university teachers, and national organisations for contributions, to pastoral farming.
