Social Credit policy

Sir, — Allen Frampton should have seen one sound reason given in my previous letter for censuring Douglas Social Credit’s economic theories — Social Creditors from British Columbia told Socred to “forget it.” Your correspondent’s claim that present monetary policies have been tried and found wanting is the same old economic hash ground out by Socred over the last 50 years. The standard of living in that period has risen amazingly but Social Credit has never been tried and never been wanted. Social Credit should tell the public in plain terms the steps it would take immediately to cure our economic ills. — Yours, etc., J. F. GARVEY. March 27, 1981.
