The Riccarton Highland Pipe Band marches to a civic reception at Riccarton House. The reception, by the Riccarton Borough Council marked the band’s success in the national pipe band championships held at Timaru recently. In the competition the band won the Grade 3 championship title. It was first in the selection, second in the quickstep and drummajors’ display, and third in the street march. It also won the Grade 3 drumming shield.
