Successful fair

A Canterbury Aged People’s Welfare Council vintage fair at the week-end came close to its financial goal, in spite of poor weather which forced it from the banks of the Avon River into King Edward Barracks!

The council is still about $lOOO short of its $BOOO donation goal. It wants to buy another minibus to handle recreational outings for erly and disabled people.

A new vehicle will cost up to $ll,OOO. Fair organisers said they had a good response, and donations would still be accepted.
