McKechnie down marginally
The unaudited group net profit of McKechnie Brothers (N.Z.), Ltd, the New Ply-mouth-based . metal fabricator, fell a marginal 2.9 per cent to $932,000 in the sixmonths to January 31, the directors announced yesterday. The reduced sales on the domestic market were largely offset by a further increase in export sales, they said.
Some improvement in the domestic market was expected in the final six months to July 31. The profit was after providing $lBl,OOO less for tax at $165,000, and $45,000 less for minority interests at $41,000. A steady interim dividend of 5c a share (5 per cent) has been declared, payable taxfree on June 2, ex dividend on May 14.
