New Zealand’s Graeme Crosby nearly made it two in a row" in the superbike race at the recent Daytona meeting in Florida. Only five metres separated Crosby from the winner, Wes Cooley. Cooley, who raced here a few y ea ?s a go in the Marlboro senes, and Crosby both rode Yoshimura Suzukis.

Both riders circulated within centimetres of each other for much of the 140 km race. Crosby said afterwards he had planned on slipstreaming Cooley for the last lap beforetrying to pass just before the chequered flat. “It didn’t work f me bt it was -great race, he said.
