Dalzell returns to the league fold
Rex Dalzell seems to have given up any idea of playing rugby this season. He appeared for the Linwood premier rugby league team as a half-time replacement against Papanui last evening. Dalzell, who has played for Canterbury and the South Island as a rugby league forward, was reinstated to rugby union during the off season. However, his case was to be reviewed when rugby union officals learned that
he had played semi-profe.-sional rugby league for Warrington in England, and ha received payments in Nev Zealand. Dalzell was to have met ?. sub-committee of the Canterbury union for more discussions on his application for reinstatement to rugby. However, a union spokesman said that nothing had been heard from Dalzell, and Dalzell had no comment to make at the Show Grounds last evening.
