Mixed N.Z. market
Although rises outnumbered falls, market leaders tended to be mixed on an active New Zealand sharemarket yesterday. Profit-takers moved into Fletcher Challenge, New Zealand Insurance, and South British, and the N.Z.U.C. index'fell 1.97 points. Brierley eased 5c in spite of announcing a good half-yearly result, and R. and W. Hellaby lost 15c of Tuesday’s 93c gain after, the directors said that they would "reject Allied Farmers’ Co-operative’s offer. Andrews and Beaven firmed again, but Ballins eased.
