Speedy two-year-old
From G. Ki Yule .’ Hobart Neardearo, a daughter of the Prebblcton-based stallion, Nardins Byrd, is 'being acclaimed as one of the best two-year-old fillies seen in Tasmania for some time. She finished second* to Delvin Handicap at the, end of 2000 m, won -in 2min 43.7 s on the second night of the Inter-Dominion Carnival, and earlier this week she won in style from some high-ranked colts and geldings m a mobile mile race run at Elphin in Launceston.
Nardearo, from Jodearo, paced the distance in 2min 3.55, one of the fastest times recorded by one of her age in the state.
Nardearo is raced by Mrs Wendy Crawford, of Hobart, and she is trained by Rod Burgess, one of the more successful trainer-reinsmen in the North-West district.
