Wasley wins squash
The top-seeded Chris Wasley (Burnside) won the men’s title and Jacqui James completed a clean sweep of successes in the women’s event in the Canterbury under-23 squash rackets championships at Chester Street yes; terday.
However,, Wasley encoun-i tered spirited opposition from) his teen-aged club-mate, Mark! Crosbie, who pushed him to I five games after dropping the first two. The women's title was decided on a round-robin basis, and James gained her fifth straight win in toppling Adele Ellery in three games. Results: Women’s championship.— Fifth round: Jacqui James beat Adele Ellery, 9-2, 9-7, 9-5; Julie Quinn.beat Suzanne Davies, 9-2, 8-10, 9-5, 9-5; Susan Waslev beat Caroline Wright, 9-4, 9-1. 9-3.
