Soccer star kidnapped
NZPA-Reuter . . Barcelona A hitherto unknown group claims to have kidnapped a Spanish World. Gup soccer star, Enrique “Quini” Castro, to prevent his, club from winning the league, police sources said, yesterday. They said that the “Spanish Catalan Battalion” said it abducted Barcelona’s 31-year-old : star striker, who disappeared yesterday, because the Catalan club was separatist and should not be
allowed to win ithe Spanish League. Barcelona, at present second in the league, is to play a crucial match on Sunday against the -leaders, Atletico Madrid. An aririonymous caller told Spanish radio that ‘'Quini” — top scorer in the Spanish League this season — would be back home on March I'l. The police would not say how the claim was received and said- they were still checking on its authenticity.
