No sign of Rowe
The Auckland swimmer.; Paul Rowe, who announced recently that he intends to live in Australia, has not arrived at the national swimming championships at the aquatic centre, Rotorua, this week. Rowe, officially a member of the Auckland team, was billed as one of the star attractions at the championships.
The Auckland team man ager, Mr K. W. Torrance said yesterday: "I have heard nothing, known nothing and am doing nothing about it until Rowe or his father (the New Zealad swimming councillor, Mr C. Rowe) contact us. “We presume he is held up in Australia with the airline strikes,” he said*
