RESPONSIBILITIES: The General Manager shall be responsible to the Board of Uluisaivou Corporation for the overall management and implementation of the project. As the chief administrator, the General Manager shall also be expected to: advise the Board on the planning, programming and implementation of policies related to the project; supervise the activities, training and development of the officers and staff of the project; administer the financial and clerical affairs of the project; consult the Government departments, institutions, individuals and organisations as required to achieve the objectives of the project. QUALIFICATIONS: The General Manager will be expected to possess the following qualifications and experience: 1. actual experience in the administration and management of a large-scale agriculturerelated business (livestock and cattle) or agricultural production or servicing organisation; 2. experience in working and reporting to a Board of a Corporation; 3. experience in staff administration, training and development; establishment of effective office administrative, accounting, recording and monitoring systems; preparation of work programmes, planning and preparation of budgets; 4. leadership and communication skills to establish rapport with people and officials at all levels; 5. ability to assess priorities, plan activities and mobilise resources to attain the objectives of the project; prepare comprehensive analyses and reports on matters related to the project; 6. ability to adjust to different cultures and methods, and willingness to reside in an isolated area. Formal training in Agricultural Science and Agricultural Commerce is desirable and an understanding of scientific evaluation would be an advantage. The General Manager will be based in Saivou, Ra Province, Viti Levu, Fiji.
