DEPARTMENT OF LANDS AND SURVEY RESERVES ACT 1977 WAIMANGU SCENIC RESERVE MANAGEMENT PLAN: PURSUANT to Section 41 o£ the Reserves Act 1977 the Department of Lands and Survey is to prepare a management plan for the following reserves which include the land recently leased as the “Waimangu Round Trip.” The management plan will provide guidelines for* the future management and development of the following areas! (1) Waimangu Scenic Reserve i.e.: the whole geothermal valley area and the area of steaming cliffs on Lake Rotomahana. (ii) Lake Tarawera Reserve i.e.: the land between Tarawera Buried Village the road and the lake which includes the launch masters house and the Tarawera landing area. (iii) Lake Tarawera/Lake Rotomahana Reserve i.e.: the isthmus between the lakes which includes the jetties and connecting walking track. Plans and aerial photographs of these reserves may be viewed during normal office hours at offices of the Department In Auckland, Hamilton, Rotorua, Wellington, Christchurch and Dunedin.
