NZPA Melbourne The former New Zealand galloper, My Brown Jug, could be in for his first win of the year when he clashes again with Hyperno in the $25,000 Blarney Quality (1600 m at Flemington today. Last time they met, two weeks ago in weight-for-age St George Stakes (1800 m they turned in an action packed dead-heat win. This time My Brown Jug’s trainer, Tommy Smith, has predicted that the four-year-old Godavari entire will win but Bart Cummings, trainen of Hyperno, is less sure oj his horse. “We’re getting him ready for the Australian Cup oveEi 2000 m and the 1600 m might, be just a little short for him at this stage of his preparation,” he said. My Brown Jug, to be ridden ( by Peter Cook, will meet the New Zealand-bred Hyperno on Ikg better terms than in the St George. In the latest markets My Brown Jug is 9-to-4 favourite while Hyperno. to be ridden by Harry White, is second favourite at 3-to-l.
