Although she has previously written for television and films, Judith Ross considers “Rich Kids” her first film as a screenwriter. Altman who . has produced and directed such films.as “California Split,” “Nashville,” “Buffalo Bill and the Indians,” “Three Women,” "A Wedding,” “Quintet,” and "A Perfect Couple,” said he was attracted to the script’s two 12-year-old leads as well as to the story’s simplicity and its ability to be filmed at a reasonable cost”
