Helmet standards
An Australian standard covering vehicle helmets has been circulated as a draft for public comment with a view to its declaration as a New Zealand standard. . If it •is declared, the standard will replace the three New Zealand ’stnadards at present covering motor-cycle helmets. The New Zealand . stan-;T dards which would: be ’ placed are: NZS 1214; protective' helmets for. racing t motor cyclists; NZS 1215,' protective helmets,,
motor cyclists, and NZS 1884, protective helmets and peaks for racing car drivers. These standards have not- been upgraded since 1973. F Manufacturers, v motor cycle' associations and the New Zealand Autocyde Union have made a number of . requests. 6ver the last....
