Shipbuilders unanimous?
PA Wellington The Minister of Trade and Industry (Mr Adams-Schnei-der) sees unanimity developing over proposals to restructure New Zealand’s shipbuilding industry. After some 30 minutes of discussion this week with representatives of unions involved in the industry, he said “They seem to be very happy about the way things have gone.” The Minister said there seemed to be unanimity between the unions and the Shipbuilders’ Federation on issues posed by the proposed restructuring of the industry. He is scheduled to meet representatives of the Fishing Industry Board tomorrow and plans after that meeting to make a full report to the Cabinet economic committee.
