Wheat continues to be of good quality
By Tuesday of this week the Wheat Research .Institute in Christchurch had received almost 2900 samples of wheat from the ■current harvest .for testing. The director of. the in-
stitute, Mr R. W., Cawley, said that quality remained good — in fact significantly better than last season. Rongotea; .and : in particular Oroua, Were baking better than last year, with Orbua with an average score of 26.3
being quite outstanding (the minimum score' for milling iwheat is 12). The samples are still essentially from Canterbury, with quite - a few from South Canterbury • now included as the harvest moves southwards.
