Man’s head speared
PA Wellington Paul Boonen, aged 17, of Wellington is reported in a serious condition i Wellington Hospital . after undergoing surgery to remove a spear embedded in bis forehead. ’ Mr Boonen .was .with, a group of- four diver friends when the. accident happened about 6 p.m. on Wednesday.
Senior-Sergeant P. Roose said Mr. Boonen had leaned over the back seat of a car to pick up the loaded spear-1 gun when it discharged into! his head., “There were serious fears for his life but he seems to have been operated on successfully and the spear removed,’’ Sergeant Roose; said. ’ '- • |
