Variety of visitors due at Lyttelton
This week and the ones ahead - should provide harbour-watchers ’ with some interesting and uri- ’ usual sights as Lyttelton is visited by two Royal New Zealand Navy frigates, the sailing ship ■ Spirit of. Adventure and, • later, ' the passenger vessels World Discoverer, Lmdblad ■ Explorer, and the Transglobe Expedition supply ahip, Benjamin Bowring. ; The full-rigged Spirit of Adven-ture,-on ,an extended cruise of the South Island, sailed from her home port of Auckland oh Janu. f ary 20 and is expected in Lyttel- ; ton on. Februry 13 where she -.will change crews from the allgirl crew she took on at Napier, to boys who will sail on her to Bluff, Stewart Island, Port Chaimers. and Dunedin. The Otago is expected to arrive tn port on February 13 as well, sailing the next day. On February 14, the Taranaki will arrive to bunker and then sail the same day. The World Discoverer is scheduled to arrive at Lyttelton on February 22 from the Antarctic to take on and disembark passengers.
