Warning on construction projects
PA' Auckland Foreign contractors should be used only in joint ventures with local construction companies, the congress of the International Federation of Asian and Western Pacific Contractors’ Associations has been told. Mr Alfredo Guinand, president of the InterAmerican Federation of the Construction Industry,
told the congress in Auckland that contractors had to fight against the indiscriminate penetration of local construction markets by big international companies. He said that foreign contractors should only be welcomed if there were special technical or financial requirements, and then only in partnership with local firms.
