The first edition of the new cricket book, “Hadlee,” has sold like hot cakes,' and the author, R. T. Brittenden (right), and, his subject, Richard Hadlee, were kept busy autographing copies at

Whitcoulls’ Cashel Street store yesterday. The book’ about the dynamic New Zealand fast bowler has captured the interest of sports followers and a big crowd thronged Whitcoulls for the signing session. The first printing of

5000 copies was pre-sold to shops, and English and Australian editions have also been negotiated. In the light of the enthusiastic response, the publisher, A. H. and A. W. Reed, Ltd, announced yesterday that a second edition of

3000 copies would be ordered from the printers in Hong Kong, and rushed to New Zealand. The book is the eleventh written by Mr Brittenden, who is sports editor and cricket reporter of “The Press.”
