post-mortem examination re.vsaled; 'that a Mangere man, had '.causes. It had beeft' thought ' the
dead man was involved in a fracas between two groups of youths in Mangere early yesterday morning. Two youths,, aged 16, will appear in the Children and Young Person’s Court at Otahuhu today charged with assault with intent to injure, and theft, as a result of the fracas. Detectives established the man’s death was not connected with the earlier clash about 5 a.m„ He was: Tukungara Rapata, aged 40,; a labouring foreman,' married, of Mangere. Detective Sergeant W. R. Scott said Mr Rapata’s sons had called him to help quell the trouble between the two groups of youths.’ “He returned home quite normally after helping them and died in bed,” he said. It ■is believed that Mr Rapata died of a heart attack. f
