Saying it with flags
The following are the international flag signals for motor racing:— —New Zealand flag: Start. —Blue flag (waved): A car is trying to Overtake you. —Yellow flag: Danger, slow down, no overtaking. —Yellow flag (waved): Danger very near, prepare to stop if necessary. —Yellow flag with vertical red stripes: Slippery surface (e.g. o,il on track). —White flag: An observation car, ambulance, fire engine, or slow-moving racing car is on the track. —Green flag: A danger,
which had been signalled, has gpne. —Red flag: Stop racing and return to the pits. —Black and white triangle (with number): A last warning to a driver for unsportsmanlike ■ behaviour before the black flag is shown. —Black flag (with number); The car indicated must stop at its pit. —Black flag (with orange disc): Your car is in trouble (you may be on fire and not realise it). You must stop. —Black and white chequered flag: The end of the race.
