Wall St rally fails to make up losses
A mild recovery on Friday failed to off-set two days of heavy falls on Wall Street. The selling pressure set off by investment adviser Joseph Grabville saw the Dow Jones average of 30 industrials drop back sharply on Wednesday after breaking through the 1000 mark. . . „ In two days the index fell 38.99 points, and on Wednesday a record number of nearly 93 million shares were traded. Friday’s . rally quickly faded, suggesting that investors are still unsettled by the drop and continued uncertainty about interest rates.
