Fewer building permits issued
The number of building 'permits issued for flats and j houses dropped by 18.1 per ■cent, in November, 1980. : compared with the number , issued in November. 1979. -according to the Government Statistician (Dr J. R. Darwin). The 1980 figures are provisional. | Basing his assessment on early returns from local |jauthorities and allowing for Government work. Dr Dar■v.’in estimates that in Nojvember. 1980. 1 186 new l dwellings were authorised 'compared with 1448 in November, 1979. More flats were built in November, 1980, the estimated total being 295 compared with 242 in November, 1979. The estimated number of permits issued for houses in
