Four killed on roads
PA Wellington 1 One person is dead and three others are critically injured after a head-on collision Ikm north of Waikanae at 3 a.m. yesterday. The dead man was Stephen Paul Stanley, aged 22, a trainee chef at the Chateau Tongariro. Ambulances took all four to Wellington Hospital where Mr Stanley, the driver of one of the cars, died. His passenger, Anthony Lavin, aged 18, also a trainee chef at the Chateau Tongariro, is reported in a critical condition with head injuries. Cars collide A Manurev/a man killed in a two-car collision at Takanini on Thursday afternoon was Terrence Charleston, aged 52, married, a dental technician, of .Gloucester Road. Mr Charleston was driving on Porchester Road about 4.30 p.m. when his car and another collided at the intersection with Airfield Road. Found in ditch A man was found dead in a ditch 'at the side of the Edgecumbe-Awakiri highway on Thursday morning.
