John Deere parts, and remain the sole distributor for Chamberlain and John Deere forestry, construction and utility equipment. Chamberlain John Deere’s agricultural marketing man- i ager, (Mr W. Hubbard), said i that the move will lead to a i significant strengthening of the company’s position in i New Zealand. “Until now, the whole I weight of responsibility for i the marketing effort in New i Zealand has been borne by Dalhoff and King, acting as ; our main distributor,” he j said. “By putting in our own 1 staff we’ll be freeing Dalhoff i
and King to concentrate on the key areas of agricultural sales and sendee, as part of an excellent network of 20 outlets covering the two is-i lands, and to develop the market for forestry, construction, and utility equipment.” Mr Hubbard said that the company’s direct involvement would enable it to assess a number of product line extensions that were under review. The company would also look at its pricing structure, hinting th -1 farmers could benefit from ■ more competitive prices, he said.
