A Maori cloak presented to the Queen during her 1953 tour of New Zealand was shown on television in London in the latest of the “Royal Heritage” series. The cloak is now on display in the Royal Scottish Museum in Edinburgh. The programme, narrated by Sir Huw Wheldon, showed viewers some of the trea-
sures of Buckingham Palace and Windsor Castle, including items collected by the Queen and the Duke of Edinburgh on their overseas trips. The Maori cloak and car-

sor Castle where an old document showing income tax at 3 per cent is put on display in the library for the benefit of the Prime Minister (Mrs Thatcher), one of the guests.
There is a mounted bread roll in a glass case, dating back to Queen Victoria’s reign, for the benefit of another guest, the chairman of a biscuit firm.
