Catholic tennis
PA Auckland John Mills, of Auckland, and Neil Carter, of Wellington, reached the men’s singles final of the New Zealand Catholic tennis championships at the Windmill Road courts yesterday. Mills had the easier battle as he beat Kevin Burgess in two sets, although the second went to advantage. Carter war taken to three sets by his old rival, Brian Kemiedy, [in the other semi-final. The Aucklanders, Merv Healey and John Molloy, won the veteran’s men’s doubles. The organisers hope to complete all events today although some may have to be shortened. TohiU (Hutt Valley) has reached the I under-19 boys' singles.
