Examination help
Sir; — Will S.P.E.L.D. please enlighten us? What are these specific learning difficulties? Surely whatever they are, they existed in the past, but the system then overcame them. Some would never have arisen at all if
that system had been adhered to. It is to the interest of those in the education high places to suggest and nernetuate the idea that the fault lies with the children. When parents accept and perpetuate this idea through S.P.E.L.D. they harm their own children and others to come. Does the Education Department support S.P.E.L.D. financially? Far from being physically or mentally handicapped, S.P.E.L.D. admits that many children are above average in intelligence. What a waste. What a tragedy. — Yours, etc., ■ • V. H. ANDERSON.. December 28, 1980.
