Halyard injured

Halyard fractured a sesamoid bone in the second Members’ Handicap at the South Canterbury Jockey Club’s meeting on Saturday. An attempt will be niade to save the three-year-old Beaufort Sea gelding, which is owned by Mr .H. C. Greenwood and trained at Riccarton by Mavis Harris. The Gore-trained Lucky Dream damaged a foreleg when he was brought down by Jack Hobbs in the St Andrews Handicap on Satur* day, and his racing days are probably over.
