RESPONSIBILITIES , U 1 . The General Manager shall be responsible to the Board of the Uluisaivou Corporation for the overall planning, programming, management and implementation of the project. As the chief administrator of the project, the General Manager snail also be expected to advise the Board on the formulation and implementation of poliices related to the project; supervise the activities, training a development of the officers and staff of the project; administer the financial and clerical affairs of the project: consult the Government departments. institutions, individuals and organisations as required to achieve the objectives of the project. QUALIFICATIONS The General Manager shall have broad experience in the administration or management of an agriculture-related business or agricultural production or servicing organisation; demonstrable ability to assess priorities, plan activities and mobilise resources to attain the objectives of the project; experience in staff administration and development, establishing administrative and accounting systems, and recording and monitoring of management information: leadership skills and ability to communicate effectively, establish rapport and good working relationships with people and officials at all levels: and the ability to adjust to different cultures and methods. Formal training in Agricultural Science and Agricultural Commerce would be desirable, and knowledge of tropical agriculture and an understanding of scientific evaluation would be an advantage. The General Manager will be based in Saivou, Ra Province, Viti Levu, Fiji. The appointment will be for a period of two years.
