Brych bail raised
PA Melbourne A group of Melbourne businessmen raised most of the SUS 100,000 bail for the controversial cancer therapist, Milan Brych, who was arraigned on six counts in a Los Angeles court on December 12. The Australian-wide group calls itself Friends of Rarotonga. ‘' The Victorian president, Mr lan Cleland, said a branch had been set-up in each state of Australia but. the Victorian ’ branch : alone had raised the bail money.
Mr Cleland is a former Victorian Football League umpire and director of a dairy produce company, Glenpark Foods, in the Melbourne suburb of Clayton. He is also a football' and bowls commentator for the Australian Broadcasting Commission. Mr Cleland said that the group consisting of about SO members, raised almost ait the §lOO,OOO, the’ balance coming from unknown sources in the United States: He said the money came out ~of members’ own pockets.
