Study of glass co. argument
Crown Crystal Glass has agreed to provide a union consultant with a summary of its economic argument for closing its hand-blowing glass division. 1 making 37 -glass workers redundant. Officials of the Engineers’ Union, the economics consultant, and management of Crown Crystal met . yesterday and the company agreed to provide the summary. The union’s Canterbury branch secretary (Mr R. J. Todd) said that the consultant would prepare a report after examining the summary and glass workers would hear the report at a meeting on Monday. The company had also agreed to answer questions that the consultant might have after examining the company’s summary.
