‘Fluoride’ complaints
Greymouth reporter The Hokitika Borough Council stopped fluoridating its water supply last Friday but complaints are still being made to the council about! “fluoride” in the water. The Town Clerk of Hoki-l :tika (Mr C. A. Robins) said! that many people were con-! fused about the difference between fluoridation and chlorination. The chlorination was continuing, and the taste of that would obviously still be apiparent. Fluoride, he said, was (colourless, tasteless, and odourless. The Hokitika water supply was fluoridated for more than three years but after a referendum during the local body Selections in October it was! [rejected by a majority of the| [voters. I
