41 States to attend conference
NZPA Canberra The , t . 1981 Commonwealth Heads' of Government conference to be held at Melbourne will be the biggest such' meeting so far with 41 countries entitled to attend, the Australian Prime Minister (Mr Fraser) has announced.
The nations eligible included Zimbabwe and Vanuatu, which had both become full Commonwealth members since the previous meeting at Lusaka, in 1979. Melbourne’s Exhibition Building has been chosen as the conference venue because of the size of the conference facilities required, Mr Fraser said. He expected about 1500 people to attend.
