Councils to combine on plant control?

D. Annan, said '■ that the Paparua County : Council would do the admin- i istrative work under the i proposal. The day-to-day work would be done by a 1 part-time officer in the Waimairi Couty. . The Waimairi County Council had proposed the joint venture to include only 1
two of the county ridings, adjacent to Paparua County. The county had proposed to meet 3 per cent of the increased expenses caused by the increased work for the Paparua authority. Of that, it recommended that 2.5 per cent would go to the noxious plants officer to meet his increased work and responsibility. Mr Annan said that he believed that the joint authority would work satisfactorily, but some problems would have to be resolved if the proposal was adopted.
