Rehearsal tragedy
NZPA Sydney A boy, aged 12. rehearsing his part as Ned Kelly in a school play has hanged himself accidentally. Dean Newport, of Winmalee, in the Blue Mountains, was found by his mother swinging from afrafter in a shed at the back of his house on Thursday. .. „ * Who boy’s uncle, Mr Alan Newport, said a : rope around Dean’s neck had been tied like a noose. The play in which .the hoy was taking part had a hanging scene in it.
