Jumbo death toll
Korean Airlines officials have put the death toll at 14 in the crash-landing and burning of a jumbo jet with 226 people aboard at Seoul’s Kimpo airport. Korean sources said that one security worker at the airport, not employed by the airlines, was killed by, flying debris when the jumbo crash-landed. A joint investigation team has blamed the pilot for the crash. It said it found no evidence of malfunctioning in the plane’s computer, engines or landing gear. Dense fog prevented clear vision, but visibility at the time of the plane’s landing was estimated at one kilometre. — Seoul,
