Has raced consistently throughout the spring and has come through a searching preparation in great heart. Will not be suited by a muddling pace and might be tested in this. Has had corfsiderable racing at trials and not far from his best. Dour stayer capable of getting into the finish. R. Cameron 6 OSSI SUN SEEKER 16) It <7 g Armbro Del—Demure). Entered calculations when he came from a fair way back to win the Kaikoura Cup last Mondav. Better than many realise' and could land in the thick of the finish. R. Brosnan 7 11 ROYDON SCOTT (7) It (6 g Scottish Hanover—Roydon Dreatni. Won two free-for-alls in stvle early in September. having been restricted to trials since then. Looks verv fit. but there is a doubt * whether he will be quite seasoned enough for a race such as this. Must be considered. though. F. Fleteher 8 3345 GREG ROBINSON (81 It <7 g Out to Win—Double

Duty). Has paced respectable races in his lead-up spring campaign. Proven stayer, but whether he is as good as in the past remains to be seen. P. Has come through a testing preparation in grand style, finishing fast, but a shade iate for third in the Hannon Memorial at his latest stall. Third in the Cup 12 months ago and won the Easter Cup in 4min 6.9 sec last April. Sure to take beating. G. Hamilton 10 0996 CANIS MINOR (10) It (8 g Lopez Hanover—Hindu Star). Fair run for sixth in the Kaikoura Cup. Form before that rather mixed. Has a sound record as a stayer and should he move off cleanly, could be right in the thick of the finish. T. Thomas 11 2717 TRIO (11) It (5 g Lordship—Queen Ngaio). Has compiled a splendid record in the north. Finished seventh after breaking in the Kaikoura Cup last Monday. Outside chance at best. A. Perucich 12 1108 HANDS DOWN (unruly) It (5 g Armbro Del—Snow Chick). Completed the Louisson - National Handicaps double at Addington in August. Failed on a soft track at Forbury in October, and last Monday did well for • eighth in the Kaikoura Cup after breaking at the 400 m. Proven stayer of great ability expected to be the one to beat. P. Jones 13 3213 SAPLING (1) 10 (7 h Young Charles—Haakondahl). Has been racing better than ever this spring and won stylishly in a trial at Winton last Tuesday. In present form must be considered a leading contender. D. Mangos 14 200 LORD MODULE (2) 10 (6 h Lordship—Module). Won this race last season, but has not been beginning in latest racing or at trials. Latest form reasonable, but will need luck to get into the money. J. Hunter 16 1112 DELIGHTFUL LADY (1) 15 (7 m Tudor Hanover— Desilu). Rather unlucky when second to Trio over 2700 m at Alexandra Park on October 29. Before that unbeaten in four starts. The 1980 Auckland Cup winner, is one of the top pacers in the country. Has shown outstanding ability in the north this season, gaining five wins and six placings from 12 starts. Must be a top chance in spite of the class of the opposition. J. Broke and no danger when making a fresh start on October 31. Looks to ,be at the improving stage in spite of long lay-off and will have to be considered. P. dicap on October 31 and just beaten by Sun Seeker in the Kaikoura Cup last Monday. Should go close to winning in spite of awkward draw.
