Christchurch Gas
Sir, — Most Christchurch gas consumers will by now be resigned to the gas works’ pending closure by March, 1982, and be grateful for the financial assistance offered through the Christchurch Gas Company. Is the company going to reduce this assistance after December 1980, as indicated in a recent circular to consumers? — Yours, etc., J. WANKLYN. Lyttelton, November 7, 1980. [The general manager .of th«> Christchurch Gas Company. Mr C. W. S. Kennedy, replies that he does not want to comment on the matter and suggests that the writer contact the gas company. Mr Kennedy says the company has advertised that it might review the financial assistance in December.]
