Tough rival for Lisa Havoc
; By
BOB SCHUMACHER
Last year’s winner of the New Zealand greyhound championship, Lisa Havoc,! has drawn the brilliant In-, vercargill bitch. Cheerful' Sheila, in the heats of this: year’s national championship? over -560 m at Queen Eliza-! beth II Park on Monday evening. J Only the winners of the, eight heats will qualify fori the Lion Breweries sponsored final on the evening of! November 13. I After a string of wins in I her own area, Cheerful Sheila - made her first i appearance on the Q.E. II i track on October 17 and was most'impressive when winning a class 4 over the disItance. However, Lisa Havoc I should have the .edge of her: isouthern rival. I Monarchist, a consistent ’chaser from Taranaki, looks ! a good prospect from the second heat and the qualifier from the third heat should be either Otago’s top dog, ’Humbug Boy, or the promising Tredeka Lass. i From the inside box, Plac- : id Power will have an advantage ■ over an Auckland visitor. Guardian Royal, in the fourth heat and the more seasoned Airwoman might be better prepared than, the talented April Flyer in the fifth heat. A second Taranaki representative, Star Rival, nieets ordinary opposition in the sixth heat and Go Benjamin ■ and Disco Willie make most ■ appeal in . the final two heats. The Christchurch club will run - an equalisator on the heats and two other races.
